Shawn was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme at the end of September in 2021. This is a terrible disease.
He was able to be part of an early trial for new methods and therapies to slow, or even stop GBM at Rochester Mayo. While the cancer took him recently, he had more than a full year of being able to live his life doing the things he loved. I’d like to think that some of that is because the new therapies helped give him more time.
We have set up the Shawn Perich Memorial for Glioblastoma Research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
